Amanee Avery came to us identifying as “The Sax Chick.” There’s no question of her prowess on the sax – but she’s so much more – a vibrant vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer who fluidly moves through contemporary R&B, contemporary blues, and hip hop.
A performer since age 12, Avery has performed on stages in the United States and Italy, opening for or playing with artists such as Wycliffe Gordon, Wayne Bergeron, Richie Cole, The Zapp Band, Jacquees, and Carl Thomas. In 2021 Avery released her debut EP entitled “Schools Out.” It’s been featured on various jazz stations across the United States and in her home of Northern Illinois.
