It’s official! Our 2023 lineup is set. We have some superb acts for the 14th annual Crossroads Blues Festival and this is our 10th one at Lyran Park.
We end the day with something we’ve wanted to present for awhile- a Zydeco band! Troy Carrier’s band Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe will close out the fest at 8 PM, so bring your dancing shoes because it’s gonna be a whole lotta fun!
At 6 PM we have another act that we have wanted to bring out for a long time- the great oul singer and harp player Curtis Salgado! Curtis is one of the best at his craft and is a favorite of ours. This is going to be a special set of music!
At 4 PM it’s Sheryl Youngblood, one of the best female singers out of Chicago who we are excited to have at our event. She might even surprise us with an all-female band, so stay tuned!
Duke Tumatoe has been a long time favorite for Rockford and Midwest blues rock fans. He was a fixture at Big Cities and other local blues clubs and it’s been awhile since he’s been here; we are excited to bring him back!
Opening the day is Jerry Criss and his band. Jerry won our blues challenge and is representing us in Memphis later this month. He’s a talented singer and band leader and he has an exciting and entertaining band that we love!
In between acts over in the Pavilion will be three short sets from Ax and the Hatchetmen and a harp workshop by Joe Filisko. Ax and his band are representing us in Memphis as a Youth Act and the harp workshop with Joe feature free harmonica for kids!
We’ll have a great food truck and vendor assortment again and a fine selection of beers and wine for sale. Tickets go on sale in March (maybe earlier) and will be $10 in advance and $15 at the gate- a bargain! The primary fest sponsors are once again Lonnie’s Stonecrafters and CarpetMax; we thank then for their continued support of our festivals and efforts!
